2 Not great.
Posted by Lisa White on Dec 9th 2024
The machine has its quirks not the most efficient and seemless device. Most frequent issues would be thread feeding is lackluster constantly gets stuck or slips out the needle. The machines design app is really poor. Limited customization. The machine also constantly offsets the design so when changing threads for different color it’s always knocked off from the end place by a few millimeters. I would advise against this. And say you’re best off with a Brother P series. This is ideal with just simple lettering at best.

3 Brother Skitch pp1

Well built and easy to operate. A good machine for simple embroidery and complex ones with effort. The app sucks because you have to pay to upload your own image and this feature alone is down fall for this machine.

5 The good and the bad!
Posted by Christina Salazar on Nov 26th 2024
I did my best to be open minded and watch every review and read most of the reviews available. I heard the good and the bad. loved the concept and wanted to give it desperate try. I purchased one but it just wasn’t working the thread was breaking. I returned it and purchased a new one and I am so glad I did it worked like a champ beautiful I tried to start fresh different thread etc. I am glad I did I want to use it with my teen daughter. I will say the first time it took me a minute to set it up but once it’s set up I love all the functions. I would like to be able to access my own designs without having to pay a monthly membership.

1 Don’t do it!!!
Posted by Brandon Taylor on Nov 17th 2024
Complete waste of money. Set up is difficult and you have to pay for the app if you want to create anything. It does do some things good! It binds and breaks needles like a champion. If you’re ever having a great day and feeling good about yourself buy the Skitch. It will have you looking for a baby to punch in no time.

1 BROTHER DROPPED THE BALL ON THE SKITCH PP1
Posted by Jesse Villanueva on Nov 16th 2024
Brother dropped the ball on the Skitch PP1. First, the creativity concept would have been amazing for this small, unique embroidery machine if Brother hadn't cut costs in development, but they did. Yes, everyone is complaining about the high cost of Brother’s Aspira App that is required for this Skitch to work; without the app, the Skitch is useless and can't function. But that isn’t the main problem with this embroidery machine. The head lead management team failed to execute the Skitch in working order, and they know it. Threads break, needles break, bobbin thread jumps out, and tension doesn’t work. These issues aren’t small but major for a pricey embroidery machine that is limited to a 4x4 hoop. I personally experienced all of these issues and wouldn’t waste my time calling Brother support. Why? There isn’t anything they could do over the phone to fix most of the issues caused by flawed design. I had used the best threads for embroidery and got no results to complete a project without having breakage or bottom thread showing on top (Tension malfunction.) Another poorly designed aspect of the Skitch is not having the ability to raise the pressure foot — how stupid of Brother to leave this out. It is difficult to pass the 4x4 hoop under the needle to connect it to the machine. Besides the app's failure over cost, the Skitch is not worth a penny. As for Aspira app, that is another problem. After so many complaints not having the ability to transfer files in the free version, Brother recently released an update allowing it. But still, the overall functionality of the app is nothing compared to Cricut Design Space. It lacks functionality just as much as Brother’s Canvas Workspace. Aspira lacks quality embroidery and other designs. The app is only designed for a smartphone. It is not designed for a tablet or iPad, does not display in landscape mode. And Aspire is not available for desktop or notebook computers. Regardless of what many say about Brother’s products, I've never been a fan of theirs, and the simple reason is the Skitch. Instead of Brother finding ways to execute a fully functional product that makes life easy for folks like you and me, their focus is nothing more than bringing in the money. Brother's statement “We’re At Your Side” is a slogan or marketing scheme to catch a fish - YOU. Once hooked, you now become the bait for all of their revenue. My advice, do not do what I did: listen to other users' comments and not buying the Skitch, it’s not worth the aggravation that too many other folks have experienced. Many, many other negative comments through social media Brother has responded to by asking to call them. Why? They don't want the returns and knowing it is their own fault producing a bad product. And they know most of the issues can’t be fixed! So, “We’re At Your Side” comes from users who have expressed and shared their experiences, not Brother. Listen to the users.
