I don't know much about other humidifiers but we run ours almost every night and it works like a champ. Make sure to use distilled water and not water from the tap. Otherwise, you'll get mineral buildup.

Pros: large tank and easy to fill. Very quiet even when it does make its bubbling noise which they all do. Control knob is a nice feature. Cons: depending on location, water level indicator is difficult to see. Night light is too bright for a night light. Control knob doesn't have a start and stop point so don't know the level at night.

4 Competent little humidifier

I wanted a humidifier that didn't look like an aquarium and this one fits the bill. Kind of looks like a 1934 Atwater radio without all the knobs if you squint. It seems to work fine and is easy to fill but I only give it 4 stars because of two things. This unit, which you flip over to fill, doesn't have a substantial lip around the outside of bottom to trap spilled water like the previous humidifier I owned, and there is little way to direct the stream of mist that comes out of the top except to go straight up. But it does maintain the humidity level and is very, very quiet so I am happy enough with this replacement of a Honeywell Signature humidifier that had worked for many years. And of course, it doesn't have filters to replace, just requires cleaning, which is always a plus in my mind.

5 Quiet, good looks

Nice and quiet except for the occasional glub - glub when water goes into the base. Some complain about the noise when the water leaves the reservoir, but the alternative is worse. Top fill units use a float in the base that opens a valve in the reservoir when it needs water. They can and often do leak when the valve doesn't seal properly. I had some wood flooring ruined by one. I'll take the glub - glub.

Once I fill it, it runs for 3-4 days for 8 hours a night. It gives just the right amount of humidity. I keep it on the floor next to my bed and now I don't wake up with dry eyes or a dry throat. It's wonderful and its super quiet! It's also compact so and easily movable. Well worth it.

Feels like good quality. It is pretty easy to use. One full tank will last for a whole day. Not so good for a big room, I would probably recommend it for bedrooms only. I wish that it was a little cheaper, then I would give it 5 stars.
