Product Overview
The PowerDetect robot vacuum is powered by 3 deep-cleaning technologies that enable the robot to maximize performance by sensing mess level, floor type, and edges & corners. DirtDetect sees even the hidden debris and automatically increases suction and cleaning passes to remove the mess on carpets and hardfloors. Now with NeverStuck technology, this robot will navigate around obstacles AND lift itself up and over thresholds and onto thick carpets. Not only can the robot deep clean, but you also do not have to worry about it getting stuck. Detect Pro finishes the cleaning mission every time and with each clean will empty itself into its bagless base that contains a HEPA Anti-Allergen Seal trapping dust & allergens inside. The odor neutralizer technology will also ensure the odor is trapped in the base for a fresher smelling home and making it the ultimate end to end solution for pet hair pick up.

4 Convenient daily cleaner
Posted by Jimmy Boyd on Dec 8th 2024
Setup was quick & easy. First mapping run took about 15 minutes or so and seemed fairly accurate. Struggled a bit adding multiple no-go zones to the map. I’d add a 2nd one, but it would disappear after saving & coming back into the map. It did eventually add the 2nd one, so maybe I was just moving through too fast or something. The no-go zones only go as small as about 2.7 feet by 2.7 feet, so you might have to play around if you have a need for smaller zones that may be adjacent to an area that needs to be cleaned. Scheduling lets you select any day of the week, along with a single time period for each day, but it still won’t let you schedule specific rooms - it’s the whole house or nothing. This would be convenient to have the robot clean a home office every Saturday (when you’re not in there), but the rest of the house (excluding the office) M-F. If you happen to have multiple Shark vacuums, the app will let you have separate schedules for each vacuum. Alexa integration works fine. I was able to just have ‘Alexa ask Shark to start <robot name>’ and it started cleaning right away. Asking it to clean a specific room bombed out though. Does a fair job of avoiding pet toys and random cords on the floor. Fortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to see how well it avoids pet ‘messes’... Everyday cleaning performance is fine. Not spectacular, but more than acceptable considering it’s pretty self-sufficient. Did a little test with sugar & flour; handled the sugar just fine but struggled with the flour. The ‘DirtDetect’ feature did sense the sugar, so it increased suction & made an extra pass, as advertised. The ‘NeverStuck’ technology has also worked well, so far. It’s managed to avoid/escape a few specific areas that have sometimes trapped a few other robot vacuum cleaners, so props there. Overall, it might be a good choice if you don’t need super flexible scheduling & don’t want to drop an extra 3 bills to get into one of the main competitions' units. Robot vacs, in general, aren’t cheap, but they can be SO convenient.

5 Love it

I am super pleased with this robot vacuum. I bought it because im disabled and have kids, my house needs to be vacuumed quite often but I just don't have the energy! This thing does the job very nicely. I needed a robot vac that could get over the large transition strip down the middle of my home and it does go over it with ease! I will say its a bit louder than i expected but worth it for the convenience and not louder than a regular vacuum.

5 Great Bagless Self-Emptying Vacuum
Posted by Monique Harris on Dec 6th 2024
At this point I would consider myself to be pretty well-versed in robot vacuums, as this model is my fifth. Therefore, I have a good idea of what to expect and where improvements have been made. The setup directions are easy to follow; only a phone and internet connection is needed. The vacuum's first run creates a map - you evaluate whether or not it's accurate. It took my vacuum about 20 minutes to map a 1000-sq ft space with multiple rooms. I found it to be fairly accurate. I was also able to easily map the rooms and add no-go zones. On my device's first run, I noticed that it did an outline of the room and then covered the entire area by creating close zigzags. I was impressed that it vacuumed faster than other devices I've owned. I can tell that this vacuum has improved upon previous models, as it seemed to doubly concentrate on more soiled areas by slowing down. I was also pleased that this is still a bagless system. However, the bumper guard's left side seemed to touch furniture and walls more frequently than the right. I plan to look deeper into the settings to see if there's a reason for this. It also appeared that the center of the vacuum has a taller profile than competitors', making it difficult to get under some furniture. Pros: quick, easy to map and set up boundaries, thorough cleaning of soiled areas Cons: contact with walls/furniture, taller profile Based on my previous history with Shark, I appreciate its reliability and bagless system as a cost saver. I recommend this model for anyone looking for an automated cleaning system that does a thorough job.

5 Very pleased with This Shark Detect Pro
Posted by Steven Wilson on Dec 6th 2024
I'm really impressed how much Shark have been improved their lineup year after year! I believe this is a must have device in every household in 2023! It makes life so much easier, it really does! Gone are those days when i had to put tape around spots where i didn't wanted my vacuum robot to go. Or when will get stuck most of the time. Seems that Shark solved those problem for good now. And it looks so good! You can really have that self emptying base anywhere in the house it's solid and it's got great design as well as the vacuum itself. So i really enjoy the fact that the Base had that Odor Neutralizer, combined with the filtering system and you can be assured you'll not just have better looking floors but also a better quality air for yourself and the others! I recommend you give it a good charge, download the app SharkClean. And do a mapping of the area you will be operating the vacuum! You can use it manually as well it's got 3 power settings but this being beyond smart it's Best to use it via the app. It's very intuitive to have it set up, ultra-intelligent, the detection system works flawlessly... and having the self emptying function it pretty much does everything for you. Took me like 30 minutes to have it all set-up and ever since he's been working hard to keep my floors clean. I'm really contempt with it!

5 Fire your maid!
Posted by Robert Wise on Dec 1st 2024
I have been a big fan of the Shark family of vacuum products for quite a while. I currently own several robot vacuums so a comparison was quite easy for me. Enter the Shark Detect Pro Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum. The product arrived extremely well packaged. Unboxing and the setup process up was easy. There was approximately a 30 percent charge upon receipt. After initially charging the Shark and a quick download of an App, it was ready for use. A few clicks here and there and the unit was ready for use. The vacuum is highly maneuverable and pretty quiet. I was mostly pleased with how well it cleaned my floors however it’s not perfect. I have a 1750 square foot house (all tiled) and the Sharks battery easily lasted for the entire cleaning process. PROS: Control buttons are clearly marked. Suction power is STRONG and customizable! Vacuum is easy to utilize on tile surfaces. Vacuum is pretty light. Battery life is long. Extra sweeper brush supplied as standard CONS: One working sweeper brush vice two. The app fails to show a live map during cleaning process. Will not map my sunken living room All in all, I'm enjoying this Shark vacuum. It's pretty good at picking up dirt during the first sweep of the floor. I found that my rooms were clean but not perfect. I did find some dirt close to some edges of my walls and around some table legs, but this was minor considering. Cliff sensors ensure that the Shark doesn’t fall over the step into my sunken living room. I have a parrot who constantly sheds both small and large feathers and the Shark had no problem in cleaning them. It also picks up long hair and parrot seeds with ease. I’m curious as to why this product doesn’t employ 2 sweeper brushes and why the single sweeper brush rotates slowly? Other robots that I have used utilize two of them and they rotate at a much faster rate. Worth mentioning is the fact that the Shark can’t map my entire house as I have a sunken living room. Research revealed that mapping an entire living space is only possible when all of the floors are the same height! I confirmed this fact via a customer service phone call. I would recommend that users allow the product to “map” their home. Once mapped, the Shark easily navigates around your rooms and obstacles and only then will you have access to power settings and such. I was amazed that this product did not become stuck under my fish tank stand as my other vacuums do. The Shark easily adjusts its height and manages to free itself. In closing, this is a pretty good robot! It maps the layout of my home quickly and efficiently. It leaves my rooms mostly clean and its cleaning program is very efficient. This product definitely makes my recommended list.

5 Bribe the dog to love this thing, it's worth it!
Posted by Thomas Robinson on Nov 26th 2024
I used to have a robot vacuum for years we called SAM that we would use regularly when going out of town, after picking all the things off the ground first and making sure no rugs were bunched up, and it was an amazing feeling to come home to those fresh vacuum lines all over the floor. Unless it got stuck on something. Then it was just frustrating knowing that you had to find where it lifted its backside and died, carry it back to the charger, and hope it works better next time. We ultimately put the old one in our storage locker because we adopted a house hippo (dog) and she was petrified of the sentient vacuum that would come for her when she or a toy would bump into it! One of the two had to go away, it was obviously our beloved SAM the vacuum. Then I decided to give it another try with a Shark "NeverStuck," and see if that was true... This thing is absolutely AMAZING! The setup was incredibly easy, you don't even have to check for the instructions (QR code to the app, even easier, still don't know if the printed manual is in the box)! After downloading the app, it walks you through a simple setup process of the actual vacuum and dock, then to the account creation. You'll be asked to name your robot; you can choose from a long list of preselected names or choose your own. We went with "Meryl Sweep" because much like its namesake's character in "The Devil Wears Prada," Meryl Sweep is confident, effective, slightly feared (by our dog), and 'speaks' quietly so YOU must pay attention to hear them! The Detect Pro also looks sharp and demands attention with its sleek design! The self-emptying part is nice, not really "self-emptying" because you do have a dustbin to empty, but it is much larger than other robot vacuums, almost the same size as a lot of stick vacuums! The emptying process between Meryl and the base is quite loud, you will know when the vacuum is docked and emptying its bin if you're in the room. We've been trying to get this thing stuck, too. We don't pick up charging cords, dog toys are left where they were, blankets draped off the couch onto the floor, loose bunched up rugs of different heights, even intentional blockades under the couch! Nothing! It just keeps going! I'm sure it has something to do with the initial mapping of the floor, but even with that, it's going places it completely missed or were covered during the initial mapping! Overall, though, a solid investment to keep our main level cleanly vacuumed! I'd recommend it if you're willing to splurge a bit, though the price is still a good value for everything it does. P.S. Remember to bribe to dog to become friends with it, we covered ours in treats, gradually having it do more of its normal movements and cleaning tasks while covered in treats. After about two weeks, our pup is looking forward to the stationary treats while Meryl is at its base, still not a fan of the vacuuming, but mostly leaves it alone.

5 The best smart vac I've used!
Posted by Bobby Ho on Nov 24th 2024
The Shark Detect Pro is one of the newest and most tech-filled smart vacuums to hit the market in years. It boasts a self-emptying feature that can go up to 60 days without needing attention, automatically adjusting its height to transition seamlessly across different flooring types. Equipped with LIDAR technology, it captures more dirt from your floors and expertly avoids potential obstacles in its path. The box comprises the robot vacuum, a large base for charging and self-emptying, an odor neutralizer filter, and two supplementary side brushes. The base incorporates a pre-installed waste basket that can be removed for content emptying. The "Odor Puck" requires installation, is user-replaceable, and can be easily put in place with a simple twist. To access scheduling and various targeted features, you'll need to install a complimentary app. The App provides you with an overall view of what the Robot Vac is doing at any given moment, whether it's mapping your space or going through one of the scheduled cycles. My flooring consists of tile, engineered wood, laminate, and several area rugs. The Shark Vacuum excellently navigates between surfaces, even lifting itself onto each area rug without getting stuck. It was also remarkable to observe the Shark vacuum avoiding objects like the dog's water bowl, unlike its predecessor that spilled water before redirecting. You'll notice the LIDAR doing its job to scan the area and even hear the vacuum motor kick up a notch to capture whatever it deems a dirt threat. The app allows you to trigger the vacuum to begin cleaning on demand and adjust the scheduling. Having small dogs, I found myself emptying the bin at least once a week due to their shedding, but discovered it wasn't nearly as full as expected. The self-emptying feature alone saves you from having to empty it daily, while the odor neutralizer has done a great job keeping the smell to an absolute minimum. Overall, I'm really happy with my Shark Detect Pro robot vacuum! It hasn't been stuck once, includes the self-emptying feature and odor neutralizer, and has almost eliminated the need for me to sweep. With its ability to effortlessly transition between different floor types and an impressive capacity to pick up pet hair, this device has become an essential tool for keeping my home free from pet hair. The app's scheduling feature and targeted cleaning does a great job ensuring my space is consistently clean. If you're a fellow pet owner looking for a smart vac that doesn't clog regularly, invest in the Shark Detect Pro.

4 Gets every speck of dust and never gets stuck
Posted by Suzanne Wilson on Nov 12th 2024
To start, I’m going to make a number of comparisons between this new Shark Detect Pro robot vacuum and another Shark robot I own that was a new model over a year ago and have had running around since then. This new one shares a number of design characteristics and feature with my other robot, as well as a few quirks, but brings a number of differences that are supposed to make it better but I’m not convinced. First of all, it’s overall design with the self-emptying bin is very similar, almost identical. The bin stores upwards of 30 days of cleaning before needing to be emptied, and charges the robot when it’s not in use. The robot itself is a classic round design with a side blower for pushing debris away from the baseboards and a little brush by that blower for collecting that debris towards the main brush roller. The roller brush is easy to remove for clearing out trapped hair or strings that might get tangled in it from time to time, as is the dust bin for cleaning the air filter or other stubborn debris it picks up. The main differences are that the detect pro has different sensors than my other unit, adding additional IR sensors in front and underneath it that seem to be the reasons it is advertised as having “never-stuck” and “Dirt Detect” technology. My older robot will frequently get too close to loose socks or to the edge of my stairs and get itself in a situation it cannot get out of, whereas the new Detect Pro seems to do a much better job of keeping itself out of trouble. I left a pair of shorts on the floor that would have gotten the old robot stuck for certain and the new one avoided the obstacle without issues. It also is able to traverse my bathroom mat which has defeated the other robot as well, and while it tends to make a lot of noise trying to get over and around said mat it does so without my help. So far, I feel like the “never-stuck” tech does indeed mean it’ll do the job without getting bound up on unexpected articles or almost falling down the stairs. One thing that does shock me however is the amount of damage it has already sustained after just three cleaning runs on its sides from hitting my baseboards and furniture. With all the sensors it has, I figured it should be significantly less likely to strike things, but it actually seems to do so more often than my older robot and already has quite a few marks from trading paint with my baseboards. It does do a superb and thorough job with vacuuming, and seeing as that is it’s only job I am very pleased with the results it has produced in keeping the floor it resides on clean. I live in a multi-story house with my spouse, a child and two dogs, the older robot has been cleaning the high traffic area and I got this one for the bedroom floor and it makes a huge difference to not have to do that myself anymore. You set it up via the Shark app, and it is easy to add a second or even third robot to your home in the app. It walks you through the process of getting it connected to wifi, running an exploration scan to determine where it will work and producing a map of the space you can go through and name rooms and set up a schedule for it to run automatically. My first robot has been running on its schedule reliably for over a year and I don’t expect this one to be any different in that regard. As it vacuums, if it’s internal dust bin gets too full or it need to charge before it can continue, it will make a pit stop at the self-empty bin and continue on when it is ready again until it has completed the cleaning cycle. If it experiences any errors while running it will send you a notification in the app as well as make sounds on the device itself to help you know what it needs. I did have one of these experience a fatal error that caused it to no longer function within a day of setting it up, but Shark took care of it by sending a replacement robot and the replacement has been working perfectly. Between that initial failure, and the fact that this robot bumps into things more than I think it should I’m not fully sure it’s an improvement over my older reliable unit that can also mop the floor. But it does seem like the Detect Pro does a bit better of a cleaning job overall outside of that lack of mopping capability. I really like these Shark robot vacuums, and the new Detect Pro appears to be a continuation of that reliable help that will keep my house clean and save me tons of time and effort. I wish it could mop like the other one I have, but it trades that feature for never getting itself stuck on things or getting too close to cliffs. If it proves as reliable as the first one I got then I will be very happy with it, I just hope it somehow learns to strike my baseboards a bit less often than it does at the moment. It is very thorough and that is super important, and on that note I definitely recommend it.

5 BEST ROBOT VACUUM! LOOK NO FURTHER
Posted by Emily Smith on Nov 3rd 2024
LOVE! I have had a robot vacuum for the past 6 years. When my one gave out I knew I had to replace it and after lots of research I came across this one. I have to Australian Shepherds and this vacuum clean the hair up with no problem! This is the main reason I have it. Makes life a lot easier than having to pull the vacuum out of the closet everyday. The never stuck feature actually works! I have a few area rugs around and it gets over them with no issue. Even the big fluffy UGG rug that I’m in the spare room it goes right over it. The app works great and this is where you unlock its full features the MATRIX CLEAN this literally gets the floors spotless of debris. The vacuum also detects when an area is dirtier and you heat it turn up the power. I found some reviews that said the whisker stops moving that’s because it knows it’s on carpet and that whisker isn’t going to do much and that’s why it stops. Last but not least what makes this vacuum AMAZING is that it empties itself whether it’s ran faster than 30 min it will return back to base, empty, and return to where it was cleaning; along with an empty after each run. I can say this is the BEST robot vacuum
